Errol "The Skippa" Blackwood was born in the Accompong (Maroon) Hills of Jamaica: He migrated to Toronto Canada and became a musician: he played at various clubs in Ontario performing a mixture of Reggae, R&B and Rock music. His music is an influence of Jamaican folk song (digging songs) gospel music, country and funk. In 1980, Errol formed a band named, Messenjah, along with Ray Ruddock and Rupert Harvey: they recorded two albums and a video under the WEA record label. They toured extensively for five years across Canada and the USA.
