Bio / Background
The 144 Elite’s Bio
The coming together of the 144 Elite has been a long, and divinely guided, process. The members have come from all over Houston, as well as other parts of the South and Midwest. The result is an eclectic mix of street, conscious, and battle-tested emcees ready to declare war on the disagreeable forces that have been working to kill the Hip-Hop that they have grown to know and love.
Led by the legendary K-Rino, the group is a part of the massive South Park Coalition. Their debut album includes K-Rino as well as Dope E, Klondike Kat, Justice Allah, MJ, Mayadia, and others. Their sound can be loosely described as Wu-Tang meets Outkast. But, in truth, they defy categorization. They are the leaders of a new school.
Combining raw lyrical skill, street sense, and lessons from the Nation of Islam, the 5% Nation, and the Nuwaubians, the end result is Hip-Hop at its best.
