David Kamenir studied piano with Robert Turner. A few years later David studied piano and composition with Erwin Jospe, who guided his young student through studies in classical and jazz piano and composition. In his early twenties, David continued his training with the well known jazz pianist Paul Smith. Mr. Kamenir went on to play piano in the jazz bands at California State University at Northridge and at UCLA. He is also a graduate of the Composing and Arranging Program of the Dick Grove School of Music.

In 2002, David and his trio were featured in the national television commercial for Ameritrade, ?The VIP?. In addition to composing music for television commercials such as Winston Tires, Epilady and Mattel, David has also written the scores to several documentaries including Ted Post's ?Everyone Can Make Music?. David has also composed the music for two musicals, ?Gotta Dance? and ?The Cardigan Christmas Show?.
He holds further distinction as one of the ?Rhapsody in Blue? pianists at the Opening Ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics, and has arranged, recorded and produced music for many recording sessions for other artists, as well as for his own albums.
