There are currently two bands known as The Picture Show, one an up and coming, unsigned band from West London, UK; and the other line up from Jacksonville, USA. Both play a brand of indie rock, though the UK act is more informed by slavic folk music. The Picture Show (UK): Steadily gaining momentum throughout 2007, they released their first self-financed EP ?the Revolutionary' following a hive of activity including shows with kindred spirits Editors, a well received music video and a string of thrilling performances across the UK.

The songs of the Picture Show have already won acclaim for their enigmatic depictions of the band's multicultural background, evocatively describing the ice black landscapes of a mythic Eastern Europe filled with silent toasts to fallen comrades, trees dedicated to Pushkin and Soviet rockets fired to ?touch the face of God'.
The band is headed by singer songwriter Alexei Chityan, the west London based son of a Russian ?migr? whose yearning vocal style has been regularly compared to both Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake in its range and intensity. To Alexei's left on guitar is Dave Wakeham. Having supported the Killers and enjoyed BBC Radio One airplay with his previous band Distant Sun, Dave's dynamic mixture of melody and dissonance lends the band's music a subtlety that recalls early REM and the Cure.
The frenetic urgency of the band's sound is driven by the Picture Show's formidable rhythm section, comprising of Nick Malewski's insistent bass and the forward momentum of Sam Hancock's drumming.
Finally, adding an extra layer of atmosphere to the band's recorded sound is Chris Twydell, whose layers of guitar noise and harmony brings a Kevin Shields like experimental sensibility to the proceedings.

The Picture Show (USA):
Ryan, Aaron, and Dan grew up in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area where they focused their creative energies on the production of super-low budget movies. Classics such as Three Days, Cold Blood, and the Bolo trilogy would landmark their early ambition. Shifting their attention to music, the boys set out to conquer the medium of rock and roll.
After relocating to Jacksonville, FL, they went on to develop their musical sensibilities in Little Remo. Brad, formerly from the band With based out of the exceptionally cold Twin Cities in Minnesota, has shared the stage with well known acts such as Stone Temple Pilots. Needless to say his blood is thicker than the other's.
With the addition of Brad, and a bit of evolution (or you can call it maturation), The Picture Show is complete.
