While vacationing in Dallas I had the pleasure of meeting an extraordinary young man? I was sitting at the bar, when I see three girls rush to the front door simultaneously. The DJ plays this song that I have never heard before; but everyone in the club is singing. As I inquire about the gentleman and the song, the DJ tells me that the man is D-town favorite ?Gator Main?. Me being an Entertainment Lawyer, it immediately strikes an interest to want to discuss a future business dealing with this guy, but with the crowd of women around him it clearly wasn't happening tonight?..
As I sip my Courvoisier, a waitress brings me a shot of some kind of clear liquor, compliments of the Gator Main. This was my opportunity to talk to him even though I don't know when he noticed me as he walked in. I asked the waitress what he was drinking and she said ?Patron, always Patron?. So I sent my card along with a shot of Patron to his table. Upon arrival he raises his glass to me in a salute style toast and downs the shot. Shortly after, he leaves the club. If I was a betting woman, I would give the chances of him calling about 50%, but like clock work, he calls at straight up 12:00 noon?.He asked me if 2:00 would be suitable for me and I replied ?perfect?. We met at the Cheesecake Factory for a business luncheon. When I arrived about 1:45 he was already there. He was about 6' 3?, broad shoulders and very handsome. I immediately started to ask him questions, and in one statement he summed it all up?..
He told me he was a native of Dallas; that he had been on the music scene about 5 years, but through the trials and tribulations of his every day life, he often neglected the one thing he lusted so much? the MUSIC?
The Gator Main, from my point of view is Dallas. He is intriguing, just like the city, yet many have not experienced him. Just sitting and talking to this young man, I quickly saw the persona and aura of someone that would be, not just a rapper, but a Super Star!.....
