Rick Crittenden is a composer of jazz and modern classical music. He is also a bass guitar player with influeces from Jaco Pastorius to Scott LaFaro. He has been recorded on several projects. Most notably, his CD entitled, Passages that he did with notable jazz musicians, Art Lande and Paul McCandless. The music on this CD has a similarity to early music by the group, Oregon with Ralph Towner.

The CD has been critically acclaimed by national music critics and musicians as a very mature work.
His classical works are regularly featured in the annual new music concerts of the West Coast Composers Forum in Los Angeles.
He currently resides in Portland Oregon.
