HEAVENS SAKE is a melodic hard rock band from Winston-Salem, NC USA. Originally formed in 1995. The band consists of members, David Barker (guitars), Bobby Richardson (drums), and Tim Beeman II (bass). All three growing up as huge KISS fans, decided that their goal was to put together a rock band that believed in "loud guitars" and memorable melodies. One unique feature of HEAVENS SAKE is the fact that each member sings lead vocals. The band began gaining popularity in the Southeast, USA and eventually recorded their first CD in 1997.
HEAVENS SAKE debut CD is filled with great rock tunes and reminds one of classic hard rock bands! Stand out tracks like: Tell Me Why, I Am Man, and Settle The Score ring true to their hard rock roots and influences!
After several years of gigging, and the popularity of the band growing, HEAVENS SAKE recorded an EP with legendary Producer, Mitch Easter. Mitch was famous for producing, (R.E.M., Suzanne Vega, and The Squirrel Nut Zippers.) "Second Time Around" was a three song EP that became the basis for the band's upcoming second disc, SHINOLA. Second Time Around did well with radio airplay and garnered the band quite a few new fans as well as great reviews by some critics.
In 2001 HEAVENS SAKE ventured back into the studio to record "SHINOLA." A hard hitting rock album full of energy and "big guitars!" The band showed fantastic growth as writers and performers. Songs became laden with vocal harmonies and were well put together. Maturity set in, and the band's overall sound grew. This is truly the basis for the HEAVENS SAKE sound. Although the band recorded the disc in 2001, it never saw the release date until July 2007. During those in between years, HEAVENS SAKE took various breaks and did reduced gigging due to a change in the music scene and the time constraint of members.
Now reformed and re-energized in 2008, HEAVENS SAKE is once again back on the creative trail! Writing new material, getting ready to record a third disc and looking forward to hitting the road again for some great rock shows! It's just like the expression goes..."OH FOR HEAVENS SAKE!"
