Bio / Background
Named after the jazz musican, Ben Pollack, "Pollack Plays Jazz" this CD featuring flute and guitar comes to the front of the music scene and delivers some "hot jazz!"
This is a recording that is definitely "outside the box' for flute and guitar! From beginning to end you will be taken on an exploration of new sounds for flute and guitar!
Ben Pollack, was a member of the New Orleans Rhythm Kings, became a popular band-leader in the 1920s and 1930s. some of his sidemen included Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Jack Teagarden. Ben Pollack devised the idea of having a small group, within the the larger band, featured in front to play exciting jazz.
With a "play on words" the cover art on this new CD release is an original tribute to Jackson Pollock, the innovative 20th century artist and painter!
