Mellotrons and not-so-mello guitars collide, accompanied by hard driving bass and drums. The category-defying instrumental music of Z The Void is reminiscent of classic King Crimson and Pink Floyd.
Bio / Background
"Z The Void" is the brainchild of solo artist and composer Zane Edge, who lives in Atlanta, USA. An avid collector of anything electronic that produces, modifies, or mutilates sound, Zane's soldering pencil is never far away from his musical instruments.
"Planets Round" is a collection of intense instrumentals rich with melodic content, unexpected changes, and contrasting dynamics. Fans say they hear definite influences from classic King Crimson, Pink Floyd, and The Moody Blues. The six songs on this CD unfold with multiple interconnected parts and transitions. Sound clips consisting of the opening two minutes of each track serve only to provide a mere glimpse of what lies ahead.
Some of the musical content of "Z The Void" is inspired by experimentation with computer-generated music created from pure mathematical expressions. The quest continues to find the sonic analog to the amazing visual geometry discovered by Mandelbrot and others.
