Bio / Background
Nashville songwriter Paul Zografi delivers his most poignant and moving record to date with the release of his fifth album One Door (2004).
One Door, produced by multi-instrumentalist and engineer, Jerry Hager, leaves behind the worldly themes that mark the earlier work of the Madison, Wisconsin native. Through the use of images: light and darkness, rising and falling, Zografi funnels the abstract and universal into his own personal spiritual journey, resulting in what is more of a concept album than a group of independent songs. Hager and long-time Zografi collaborator, guitarist J.P. Lilliston, give the songs a richly textured, multi-layered depth, while leaving enough space for the music to breathe.
Since moving to Nashville in 1993 Zografi has recorded the CD's: Downtown (1996), Who Stole The Boogie (1998), Don't Stay Too Long (1999) and You And I (2000). All were recorded by Jerry Hager and performed with musicians Lilliston and Paul's brother Tom Zografi.
