Lush, gentle, celtic influenced Advent and Christmas music. Lots of strings, fiddle, penny whistle and choral touches. You will want to listen to this album all year long.
Bio / Background
A collection of mew Christmas and Advent songs, as well as my own slant on some old favorites. See Amid the Winter's Snow has been one of my favourite Christmas songs for years, and I wanted to capture the elegance of this simple melody. It has an Olde English feel, with recorder and percussion. We Weren't Expecting You is a energetic number, with a bit of a Cape Breton style fiddle break in the middle. A true song of celebration.
Christmas Rags and Gray Mittens are story songs and have both quickly become favourites of my concert goers. I am so very pleased with That Night and Comfort. Both of these songs are exquisite jewels which speak to the eternal significance of the birth of Jesus.
Jubilate is a song of worship to the King of Kings, born as a child in Bethlehem. Joy is a version of Joy To the World like you have never heard it. This song rocks!
I am so very delighted with this album. It is so much more than I had dreamed it would be.
