Bio / Background
Xiren, a name derived from Greek mythology and Celtic lore, is a rock trio packing a counter tenor and a lifetime of musical performances. Loaded with volumes of original songs and talents as broad as their reach; they're east-meets-west with a knowing grin and firm handshake. It's new music, built to last, with roots in a Detroit garage and branches spanning the Colorado Rockies and beyond.
In partnering with Ben Jansen’s gifted musicianship and production acumen, Xiren is able to maximize their creative vision and remain the driving force behind self-engineered albums and live shows. The front man, Xiren, was born with the same kind of old-world resolve and ingenuity his father embodied during his migrant journey to America, and combines his work ethic, technological know-how and clever use of resources to ever improve the quality of his work.
↓ more ↓He’s the impetus behind Producer-NET, a volunteer corps of producers he assembled and trained in the tradition of Moby, who once begged the question, “If your friends don’t like your album, who will?” The result is pure alchemy, the wares of which are his stage performances.
Now, all of this has to be held down by something. The deep sureness of Zach Morse's bass and the rhythms of Ian Tometich's elegant drumming hold the band down while propelling it forward. It's in Xiren's great rhythm section that the band finds its sexuality and its dangerousness. Together Zach and Ian create the element that suggests the ecstatic possibilities of that other kingdom -- the one below the earth and below the belt -- that no great rock band can lay claim to the title without.
With a style fusing classic with modern rock, they delivers the answer to, “What if Sting joined Led Zeppelin?” It’s vintage concert energy with a community-minded boost, and listeners of all kinds find themselves sailing their bodies and minds straight toward the rock.
