Bio / Background
Brett Michael Wiesman was born in Wausau, Wisconsin to parents who had no idea they would be raising a son that would soon become a self-taught musician. But they soon found out. At the age of two, Brett was already diving into music. Sitting at his miniature baby grand piano and substituting a vacuum hose for a microphone, he quickly became addicted to anything and everything musical.
Brett found that he loved performing for live audiences, which eventually lead him to start dance classes when he was in second grade. Two years later, after many hours spent convincing his parents, he received his first guitar. He formed multiple bands throughout his grade school years and finally, in Junior High, he formed a real performing band called "Syren." Shortly there after, the band broke up and Brett discovered the sound and style of music that he loved, when he picked up a 20-year-old acoustic guitar that had been lying around his own house all along.
↓ more ↓In his high school days, Brett took part in theatre, as well as musical activities such as Men's Choir, Concert Chorale and Master Singers. He also helped start and was put in charge of a youth choir and band at his church. In his spare time between classes and after school, he taught himself piano and began teaching himself recording arts by setting up recording studio and business at home. But by far, the highlight of his high school career was a large-scale variety show, put on each year at his school. Brett was involved in every aspect of the show for four straight years. He did everything from sound and lighting to heading up the band, playing many roles such as: guitarist, bassist, pianist, percussionist and singing both back-up and lead vocals. He also took part in choreographing dance routines for large group numbers.
After graduating high school, he studied music for one year at the University of Wisconsin Marathon County. Again, he immediately became involved in theatre and music, participating in both a show choir and a traditional choir in which he was often put in charge of teaching new material to the men's section. While at the University of Wisconsin, he also made two trips out to New York City, singing in both the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
In June, after his freshman year of College, Brett was offered a job at internationally known, Track Star Studios in San Diego. It was an offer he couldn't turn down. So he packed up his life and made his way out to California, where he could finally pursue his solo musical career.
As a songwriter, Brett's clever lyrics and fresh melodies bring his clear, mellow voice to life and are a perfect match for his upbeat guitar playing. Songs range from deep, meaningful plots taken directly from personal life experiences, to everyday occurrences. 2005 will be a pivotal year for Brett Michael Wiesman as he will make his first national appearance on MTV and will complete his second album.
"My ultimate goal is the same as it has been since my musical addiction began way back in 1985. To perform for the world. I just want to use my talent to have a positive effect on all of those who come into contact with me."

I've had his CD since it first came out, otherwise I would have grabbed this immediately! It's a steal for only $6.00. Brett's lyrics speak volumes, and his music has an incredible feel to it. Give the previews a listen -- and then buy the album -- you're going to love it!!
