Bio / Background
What happens when you take two of the best songwriters around and have them make an album together? You get THE WEEPIES!
THE WEEPIES is the musical project centered around award-winning songwriters Steve Tannen and Deb Talan. I first heard The Weepies' track "All that I Want" back in 2005 on a holiday album called "A Winter's Night." It immediately became my favorite holiday song of all time. I came across it again on this album, and immediately downloaded the entire thing. Am I ever glad I did. The combination of these two artists is spectacular. Lyrics that actually tell stories, a hint of bluegrass now and then and Deb Talen's voice like a little songbird outside my kitchen window keep this album in my player constantly. Try "Happiness" for a feel good tune guaranteed to put your soul in a happier place, "Vegas Baby" on a weekend drive, "Simple Life" over your Sunday paper, or "Keep it there" while heading out to Starbucks with your 4 year old in the backseat, who you were a little too hard on about picking up her toys just before you left the house, to give you some perspective. This album is fast becoming part of the soundtrack of my life. Full of love, fun, heartache and porn stars named Starlight.. Try it..trust me, you'll like it.
