If you like different styles of blues ranging from rural barrelhouse and jump to Chicago and urban styles, this CD with 8 live cuts is for you.
Bio / Background
The term 'American Original' is much overused these days. Although there are many artists that take their respective works to new heights and so many that play the blues, there is only one act like the W.C. Spencer Blues Band. You see, eight cuts on this album are completely live with Spencer playing guitar, bass, harmonica, drums, bass and singing simultaneously using his Alectroset drum kit. The other cuts are exactly the same with an additional guitar or vocal. Harmonica and guitar interplay on this album, along with a very strong rhythm section, offer true satisfaction for the blues listener. No matter what your favorite style of blues is, you'll find something here to please you. From Freddie and Albert King, Willie Dixon, and Big Bill Broonzy to Little Walter and Howlin' Wolf, Spencer throws down an amazingly rhythmic blues with inspired guitar and harmonica duets.
↓ more ↓Listen to Spencer's originals, like So Long (his tribute to Roy Buchanan and Danny Gatton) and you will hear strains of the masters captured along with Spencer's own voicings. More than just unique, this artist takes the listener along for a historic ride as he explores the blues in his own inimitable way. Jaime Brockett
