Firefly Crusaders by VOSIKA BROTHERS

The songs we write have special meaning to us that many people seem to have an easy time identifying with--songs such as the one entitled 'Images'--which is my brother Tim's ode to a family reunion. He realizes that some of the older members of the family are lost in yesterday. 'Thief in Time' is the song where I remember back when I was immersed in traveling and work. I noticed that I was missing out on the things I really cared about. 'Fading Cinders' is the song dedicated to the adventurous that find they're not so young anymore. The song 'Line Upon Line' was written by Tim for a homeschool conference (Tim's kids are homeschooled). The song's title was the theme of the conference, and the meaning of the song is to encourage self-education and spiritual growth. The sweet ballad ‘Light Falling Rain’, is a love song that emerges from inner conflict; this song has a nice surprise ending.

When we began recording in 1992, we produced a crude (rough) original work of seven songs on a four-track recorder. We passed out cassette tapes of this which people seemed to love. Some people played those tapes over and over until they wore out their copies. Bootleg copies of that recording are still out there somewhere in America. People's enthusiasm encouraged us, and so we continued to write, produce, and perform the music for those who love what we do. Our music contains threads of a unique spiritual perspective that has been called a 'breath of fresh air'. It has also been called great driving music; it is great for listening to while you're driving in your car.

So now we, the Vosika Brothers, invite you to listen to a sample--or all ten--of the songs on the new album. We thank you for all of the donations to our Firefly Crusade. We give our gratitude to Liesl Vosika (Tim's wife) for her supporting role in the photography, graphics, background vocals, finding shows to play, and for listening to the newly written, unfinished, and untested works. We also give a special thanks to all those who have donated and purchased the first of the album pre-release--may your honorary firefly bulbs never dim.
