Bio / Background
"Time Away" is the third album recorded by the James Uhart Trio. The group has been performing in Boston and New York regularly for the past two years. Their original sound and compositions are making a strong impact on the jazz scene.
The musicians on this album are James Uhart on piano, Justin Purtill on Bass and Ramon Angel-Rey on Drums.
James has been a leader of the trio since '99 and has written most of the music for the albums. He was born in Engalnd and moved to France at the age of 3 where he studied Classical and Jazz. He has been living in the US since 1997.
Justin Purtill is an exceptional bassist from Chicago.
He has performed with top names in the industry such as Ingrid Jensen, Leni Stern and Gary Burton. He has also been a core member of the Tiger Okoshi Quintet for 2 years.
Ramon Angel-Rey is a remarkably musical drummer from Spain.
He is also a member of the Abe Rábade Trio ( Tete Montoliu Award 2001) and The Abe Rabade Ghu! Project.
