Folk-rock. The music is mostly acoustic, with a bent toward rock 'n roll. The lyrics invite the listener to examine his or her own walk with Christ while Trey reveals personal insights into his own walk.
Bio / Background
Trey Williams first CD, The Greatest Witness, is filled with original songs written by Trey, inspired by scripture or by events in Trey's life. His lyrics are well written, and his smooth tenor voice is wonderful. This CD was completed just before the birth of Trey's son in 2001, and was released at a birthday party for his wife. The gift of music is primary in all of their lives.
From early in his life, Trey has been surrounded by music. His mother is an excellent musician and Trey inherited those skills from her. He took a few piano lessons as a child, was a "band geek" in high school and college, marched in the SkyRyders Drum & Bugle Corps, and then one day decided to teach himself to play the guitar. From that point on, he has been writing and performing Christian music in churches and coffeehouses, and wherever else he can.
Trey is an active member of Parker Lane United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas (the Live Music Capital of the World).
