Bio / Background
Nate and the Colonel was the 2004 “American Indian LA Film and Television Awards” winner for Best Picture. Terry Plumeri’s symphonic score for Nate and the Colonel, complete with Native American flutes and featuring the Moscow Philharmonic with lyrics by actor Lou Diamond Phillips, received such words of praise from director Paul Winters as, “Terry Plumeri is a director’s best friend. He has the ability to compose music for cinema that feels like it was created “in” the film. This is no small feat because the music for film must be very precise. Film scores must enhance and dance and shadow the actions, the emotions, and the intricate beats of a story evolving on screen. Plumeri’s music does just that…and more. Like a talented actor, Plumeri has the gift of “getting” what a story is about and he possesses the skill to turn that “getting” into music that lifts a film up and makes it “more” than it was before he touched it.
