New York Fever is a fairly solid album from the Toasters, although it's more workmanlike than some of their more infectious efforts -- the songwriting could be a bit more polished and melodic in places instead of relying on the group's admittedly fine instrumental work. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
Bio / Background
The third full length by the Toasters. Lots of new members in the band at this point, and a smaller number of them total. The sound generated by this line up was more on the dance pop edge. This album sounds like it should have come right before Dub 56 with This Gun For Hire actually sounding like it should have come right before this release. Most of these tracks are still being played today in current live shows.
