Bio / Background
Bean's Biohazard starts back as far as childhood when his mother used to take him to the opera at the Kennedy center of downtown Washington, D.C. Yeah, It was boring and exciting at that time because they were not used to things like that. But it didn?t stop there. His musical experiences ranged from his father?s ?old school? albums (such as Hadley Caliman, White Heat, The Doobie Brothers, Sly & the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Catalyst, and The Original Last Poets) to the being in University Park Elementary School?s choir. He still has the album they did. Don?t trip! It was beautiful. You?re too cool to even say that!! They used to sing songs like ?I Wonder As I Wonder? and ?The World Goes Rolling On?. We probably need to sing that like NOW!
His sister, Stacey (may she rest in peace), and Bean were eventually enrolled in the school?s marching band where He learned to play the clarinet and the trombone. Back in that day, he thought the clarinet was more a ?girl?s? instrument.
↓ more ↓How naïve was he? At that time, Bean didn?t realize the wide spectrums of music from composing, to the instruments, to the song writing.
When the beats hit the streets of "down the bottom" Newport News, VA, Tony "BEAN" King, and his comrade C "NAKREE" Smith took to giving' our listeners a taste of lyrical goulash. This was right around the time songs like: Nightmares by DANA DANE, JUST-ICE, Roxanne Shonte', Skinny Boys, and DO THE FILA came out. Back then they were known as "PhD-Doctors of Philosophy". Nakree's was known as Mr. Cee and Tone was known as Dr. Bean. Nakree would attack emcees with a freestyle frenzy sparking the very depths of your mind at the same time making you laugh in the process. Bean's attack was more of uh, how you say, verbal entanglement. And he wrote in way that could get across to the most skeptical listener.
At that point, they were lacing shows at the skating rink, pep rallies (Ferguson High), and so on... Bean gives a shout out to Wood song, Aqua Vista, Walker Village, Harbor Homes, and Ridley Circle.
Bean moved to North Carolina and met up with other underground artist such as Yaggfu Front, Seventh Tribe, DYH, Tico the Hot Commodity, DJ Assassin, DVS of K97.5, and Flow Original of NC State radio station. Since there roots were from different backgrounds, they became the infamous TREEZ OF A DIFFERENT SOIL... TDS. Treez Of A Different Soil consists of Michel, Nakree, Guava Don (Regge Maxwell), and the Bean. Throughout paying dues Treez developed a underground producers, photographers, artist, designers and street team called the Treez Foundation.
"I'm buildin' bridges from here to other solar systems, not not a bridge of 'polar systems' of those holdin' 'gristle.' Older is you, intended for complete performance.
Showin' I'm enormace occurring on your circumference... Totally Tasteless - Bean"
Around this time, Treez were establishing means of recording their music and connecting off of each others energy. TDS knew what kind of sound they were looking for, but could never really tap into creating it to reveal their true diversity.
Guest appearances consist of the: Brewery, KINGS, the CANTINA in Raleigh, 23 STEPS, Cat's CRADDLE in Chapel Hill, NC, and Club DYH in Greensboro, NC. TDS also opened up for DE LA SOUL and TRIBE CALLED QUEST in Raleigh, NC. Shoutz to TNT Sound & Big Dee at Duke?s Underground Raggae. Shoutz to the Acolytes, Nod Dread, Empress Lioness,
?Buss 2 Em di air!!?
TDS's first song recorded was called 'Squirrels Comin' for My Nutz'. And this is The Treez Of A Different Soil's Bio-HAZARD.
This Bio-Hazard has been updated by Beansproutz Marketing and Productions, in which specializes in Photo Packages, Web Design, & Digital Mastering for upcoming artist of the North Carolina and Virginia area.
