The Mountain Music Machine
The Mountain Music Machine is an association of more than forty pickers, singers and songwriters. They all live within a sixty mile radius of the intersect point where North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee meet. To say that these folks are natives of this region of the Blue Ridge Mountains would be an understatement in that most can trace their family tree for more than nine generations in local records. Our first recordings, released in July of 2004, were shipped to 850 Blue Grass and Americana radio DJs and the response has been wonderful. From Main to California the prevailing DJ question is, “This Stuff is Great, where did these folks come from and why haven’t we heard of them before? There in lies the truly unique aspect of the Mountain Music Machine. Their Music is an avocation by choice. The roster will reflect a wide variety of business and professional careers along with their musical contribution to the association.
