gorgeous folk/ alt-country pop - equal parts of darkness and cheeky humour
Bio / Background
...four guys who at one time or another worked in the same bar - the legendary "sidewinder" in brighton UK;
came together over heartache and alcohol to create what's been described as "gorgeous folk/alt-country pop - equal parts darkness and cheeky humour" and "a unique mix of swamp-folk and alt country blues"
one guy left to drink and follow a woman, two more drunk lovelorn guys joined, and then a third to make six, between them having 36 strings - that's a lot of strings;
"a great lazy country sound straight out of the Ozark mountains after a couple of jugs of moonshine" said one reviewer after the couple of jugs of moonshine they gave him;
so its onward upon the great lonely path to the next gig and the next bar...

"In the tradition of the sort of Folk music that tends to come out of the UK, the men of The Mountain Firework Company have their share of fun, whimsical songs, that could inspire the waving of beer before running down the street naked starts to sound like a good idea. Overall, this is a really great record, and The Mountain Firework Company is a really fantastic band. Their melodies are catchy, their lyrics are well-put, and their instrumentation is intuitive and tight."
