A parallel musical universe where Tom Waits covers Queen songs at an Eels concert while David Gray, Jeff Buckley and Gavin DeGraw sing along.
Bio / Background
Tim Morrison creates soaring tales fertile with questioning hopefulness, pragmatic defeatism and romantic promises and threats. His distinctive voice and unique songs have been described as “David Gray channeling Jeff Buckley while covering Queen at an Eels concert." One soaring tale, the song "Weight," has been featured on: NPR's "All Songs Considered - Open Mic"; MP3 Weekly from MediaMusic USA; and can be heard on RadioAlice in San Francisco. The song "Magnificent" can be heard on RadioIO Unlimited.
Morrison's recent work mines a reality grounded in jarring, personal upheaval and liberating, fresh starts. It's a new, musical landscape where fragile, rocket fueled ballads simmer alongside bubbling, tongue in retro-chic, dance rock. Meanwhile, stutterpated, sour-pop sidles up to stunners with hooks so sharp they had to take out insurance policies.
