Digital loop-based improv with voice & guitar.
Bio / Background
Giles Thomas and Patries Wichers, respectively guitarist and vocalist
from Bateau Lavoir have been working on a side project together.
The working relationship goes back ten years. The approach remains,
no-repertoire, improvised music. Empty loops are created & filled with
sound during the performance. The playing of the instrument has an
equal relationship with the manipulation of the loop. To achieve this
we decided to place the loop at the front as the musical event & reject
the history of loops being used as accompaniment. These recordings
are live unedited works as they would be heard in performance.
