In between the rockstars too cool for everyone and the rockstars not cool enough for anyone comes The RedLine, a Chicago-based quartet that fuses elements of hard rock and pop to create a style all its own.
Bio / Background
Kevin, Steve, Conor and Andy managed to find middle ground and spawned the sound that now defines 'RedLine-rock.'
They are currently in the process of promoting their first full-length EP titled North and South. The album will serve as a catalyst for the band to increase its visibility in and around Chicago, and then the country. The RedLine looks to play live any chance they get in order to accomplish this task.
The lead guitarist Kevin pollutes the airwaves with licks worthy of virtuosity yet admirable for their straightforwardness while Conor, rhythm guitar, plays his Tele likes it's meant to be played: smooth and sexy with a streak of uncontrollability. On bass, Andy matches his uncomplicated yet catchy bass lines with pop-friendly vocals as Steve, the drummer and backbone, manages to keep the band's talents in check with effortless precision.
↓ more ↓In a short time the band has managed to play a number of local venues (including the Beat Kitchen, Gunther Murphy's, Double Door and the Abbey Pub to name a few), be featured on local radio and television (88.3 FM WZRD and WYCC/CAN-TV Chicago), sell over 400 copies of its first demo, travel the Midwest to play on college campuses like Marquette, Loyola, and St. Norbert's, and take first place in the first and second round of the Emergenza Music Festival in Chicago.
Like the city in which it was formed, the RedLine is gritty and determined yet laid-back and cool. Their live show, undeniably powerful in its nature and unexplainably aesthetic in its presentation, is already famous and commands attention. Still, rocking out from Wrigley Field to Comiskey Park and Lake Michigan across to the cornfields of DeKalb, they are ready for more.
