Bio / Background

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, The Peasants are a seven piece American roots country pop band featuring female vocal harmonies, banjo, mandolin, acoustic and electric guitars, bass and drums. the band plays original songs about a disappearing America, ranging in style from sweet love songs to eerie murder ballads to beer drinkin' boot stompin' rockers. Influences are many and include such bands as The Asylum Street Spankers, The Holy Modal Rounders and the Carter Family. You can expect a rowdy drinkin' good time with The Peasants at venues like Produce Row, The White Eagle, The Laurelthirst, and Alberta Street Pub.
