From the original genre-busting "band without instruments" Grammy nominated a - cappella group, the Bobs - Rhapsody in Bob delivers both a classic that truly rocks and classic rock. The Bobs are the Beatles of the a cappella world.
Bio / Background
From Grammy-nominated vocal pioneers (and certifiable nutjobs) THE BOBS, RHAPSODY IN BOB boasts a unique arrangement of a classic that truly rocks and a helping of classic rock, Bobs-style. Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" premiered in 1924 in a program alongside pieces incorporating barnyard calls and a tin can. The composer originally called the piece "American Rhapsody" because it was such a melting pot of varied musical elements. So, what better group of artists to revisit this auspicious beginning than The Bobs, with a killer combination of musical chops, acrobatic vocal arranging, and an inscrutable sense of humor that makes them impossible to categorize? Six distinctive cover songs from Kurt Weill to Tom Petty kick off the band’s 13th album, and guest pianist Bob Malone (www.bobmalone.com) joins on “Rhapsody in Blue” as The Bobs become a Vocal Orchestra.
