Think Weezer meets Queens of the Stone Age.
Bio / Background
In late August of last year, THE ARCHIVES had thirty seconds of our advance single "The Next Life" featured during the Bob Rivers' Twisted Radio's "Write a Bleepin Song Contest". They said we sounded like "The Monkees playing minor chords... on heroin." We strongly agree to disagree with their assessment. Our band is called THE ARCHIVES and we sound like The Pixies playing major seventh chords on acid.
We started under another name in June of 2004, and finally settled on THE ARCHIVES in March of last year. We have been playing frequent shows on Whidbey Island, in the Skagit Valley, and in Anacortes and appeared on Puget Sound Access cable last month.
Our first album is a diverse collection of Rock/Pop music ranging from the Queens of the Stone Age reminiscent sound of "The Next Life" to the Surf/Mod Rock sound of Accellerando/Midnight Crisis. Everyone in the band sings, so get ready for some four-part harmonies!
