"Deliciously miserable music." NYTimes 2006 "Taylor's style of rock meets country meets antifolk, has met no match." Pulse 2006
Bio / Background
"She categorizes her music as "Folk", but don´t expect to hear strumming on an acoustic guitar and mandolins and violins all day long. This body of work is a fuzzed out rocking jaunt into the backyards and back woods that is at times dark and beautiful. Terese´s voice can be delicate enought to convey loss, longing and hurt, but never do you get the sense that it overwhelms. In fact these songs are a testiment to someone who survived."-DJ Nylon, PirateKat Radio
"Terese Taylor is one of San Francisco's local treasures...we especially like "Hermit,"
"Call In Sick," (!) "The End," and "Dirty." - V. Vale, RE/Search Publications
"Waify and one of the most charmingly self-deprecating alternative rockers, San Francisco-based Terese Taylor defines herself and her music best (of course): "I'm an outskirts, pavement-to-dirt road kind of un(musak) industry gal." Her record is through and through one of the most superlative releases of the year. This record...
↓ more ↓has that almost indefinable oddball spark that sets some musicians apart from the norm. Lyrically, it's as if Taylor is telling a story on a dusty back porch, and her songs have the feel of a hazy, grainy black and white photograph. Although she gets plenty of them, Taylor defies any accurate comparisons to other musicians. Her signature blend of folk-funk, rock and hopeful doom places her in a well-deserved category of her own. She's a weirdo who makes music that feels like a long drive on a barren road as sunlight flashes through tired, old tree branches. And it's only off this beaten path that you'll find your way into her beautifully sad and addictive sound."

Press Release:::::::::::::::GOOD LUCK INVESTIGATIONSHIP
This is Taylor's 3rd self-released CD marking her last collaboration with drummer Rob Johnson before moving on to greener icier complicateder simpler waters with her East coast bandfriends, Genevieve DeClerck, Hugh Edwards and Ken 'Clem' Frank and more solo touring. This is by far her finest effort yet and a must-have among CD's of fans of Cat Power, Liz Phair, 50 Foot Wave and The Pixies. Terese has proven to be a consistently hard working independent musician appearing nationally and opening for bands such as 50 Foot Wave and for Jane Siberry, appearing on compilations for: Antifolk, SBS Records (Amy Ray also appears on this comp)put out by Michelle Malone, Shuteye Records, and Southofmainstream. She has performed at NAMM, NARM and Folk Alliance Festivals and has appeared at venues from L.A. to NYC steadily throwing her rock and roll and acoustic personal oddly shaped songs at the ears of folks at radio, live teleconferencing (when Liquid Audio first developed this technology), nightclubs and cafes. Consistent in amazingly revealing performances, Taylor easily fluctuates between acoustic and electric hard rock and fits easily on an acoustic bill as well as a hard rocking one. In 2004 she collaborated with choreographer Randee Paufve and performed live with dancers on a national tour. She has scored for films including 'Women In Love' by Karen Everett and recently for several youtube specials. With a pending spring tour for 'Good Luck Investigationship' underway, Taylor plays regularly on radio and in clubs in the bay and outlying areas. In 2007, Taylor's steadfast reclamation evergrowing sprung forth from rock and antifolk is sure to seep slowly into your dark cold heart.
"The tender punk heart of Terese Taylor; the mesmerizing uncanny mistress of mirthlessness hails from Buffalo, NY (think 66) but now resides safely ensconsed in the warmer climes of San Francisco. Taylor's songwriting unravels and pours a stiff, dark drink of simple, stark and melancholic yearnings, then high kicks an assault of lashed out betrayeal and whips up winds of hypnotic love, the dark, unrequited never to be found again kind. Rock, bluegrass and garage bundled up in charmed arrangements..."
