So what happens when you quit your job, jump on a plane and find yourself cold and hungry in central Turkey? Well, in this case - you make a record. Rick Temporao & the New Low have just released their debut CD, "Down in Front". It boasts smart songwriting, hypnotic beats and a flare for the dramatic. Think Sam Roberts goes to film school while sharing a dorm room with Elvis Costello.

Originally from Kitchener, Rick left everything he knew about himself and his music to travel abroad. From awe-inspiring sights in Istanbul to quiet introspective days in Lisbon, the experience fuelled the creation of the songs, the band and ultimately the record.

As Rick puts it - "The perspective I got from leaving gave me the drive to do what I always wanted to do.
