Telescope blends melodic rock music with atmospheric soundscapes.
Bio / Background
Greg Wiz lives in New York City & plays and records with
Joseph Arthur, The Autumn Defense (featuring John Stirratt and Pat Sansone of Wilco), Greg Dulli of the Twilight Singers/Afghan Whigs, Jenifer Jackson, Rene Lopez, Mike Napolitano, Nervous Cabaret, The Honorary Title and Teddy Thompson.
Dave Rosser is a multi-instrumentalist in New Orleans and records and tours with LA's Twilight Singers (Greg Dulli), and has recorded with Emerson Hart (Tonic), The Twilight Singers, CC Adcock (Little Band O'Gold), Tom Maxwell (Squirrel Nut Zippers), Jason Ross (7Mary3). He can be found sometimes darkening random stages in the French Quarter.
Telescope began in 2004 as a collaboration between songwriter-percussionist Greg Wiz (NYC) and multi-instrumentalist Dave Rosser (New Orleans). The two had roots in New Orleans in the 90's and put out 3 albums with local favorites Daydreams+Curry.
↓ more ↓The two found the separation frustrating and began a collaboration via American Airlines and Fedex, recorded in New York and New Orleans over about a year. It documents the changes and gestalt of that time.
The album features appearances by Joseph Arthur, Jenifer Jackson and Pat Sansone, and is produced by the band with Benjamin Mumphrey (Frank Black) and super-genius Mike Napolitano (Joseph Arthur, Blind Melon, Neville Brothers).

silver circles is a pretty sick song
Silver Circles by Telescopeady b wrote on February 20, 2008
With a serious seventies kick-back style and sound from the very beginning to the very end, Silver Circles is a classic in the making. I first heard it accompany the AMC Channel's 'Monster Fest' commercials and wasn't surprised to see internet forums filling up with queries as to who performed the track. It's a shame that AMC let the band and the potential fans down a little, by not putting Telescope's name at the bottom of the screen when the commercial aired! With its relentless laid back style, the track seems to conjour up thoughts of great summers and good times but no-one I've played it too can exactly work out why! Still, it works! Definitely give it a listen; I think you'll be impressed with what these guys have managed to achieve!
