NEWS FLASH: Fishleather Jacket CD is winner of the Excellence In Recording Award - June 30th, 2006
Tom Ball's freshman CD release Fishleather Jacket (produced by Ball and Ben Makinen)is the winner in the Roger Bobo Excellence In Recording Award for best jazz euphonium recording for 2005. Winner was announced on June 30, 2006 at the International Tuba Euphonium Conference (ITEC) held at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music.
TOM BALL
Trombonist, Euphoniumist, Composer, Music Educator
Denver is home to Mr. Ball, who is one of only a handful of jazz euphonium players in the world actively recording as a leader or sideman. Mr. Ball has been a freelance musician and music educator in Colorado since 1996. He holds degrees in music from the University of Colorado Boulder and Berklee College of Music. Mr. Ball works regularly as a trombonist with several groups in the Denver area and is active in the Denver recording scene.
