Melodic and smooth relaxing instrumental music built on superb nylon guitar work - a variety of moods and styles from Smooth Jazz to Adult Contemporary layerings to Latin, and World guitar excursions.
Bio / Background
How do I describe my music, well it’s just songs that to me have meaning and have some of my spirit attached to them. R&R music(rest and relaxation). Simple and smooth melodies that are memorable, with a relaxing backdrop of accompaniment from a variety of instruments provide the harmonic background with the odd chordal twist to keep things interesting. Think Larry Carlton meets George Benson and Earl Klugh with some Al Di Meola thrown in for good measure.
I am reluctant and find it very hard to name my music directly as it draws from so many different sounds, moods and creative areas in my life. Adult contemporary music with a Smooth jazz and World beat/Latin fusion and pop feel at times would best describe the musical genre, but ideally this music has no boundaries and can be enjoyed by young and old, again as a good melody can be appealing to everyone listening. My music is very individual, so the listener can form their own imagery of what this music means to them.
↓ more ↓Born and raised by Hungarian parents here in Toronto, with a father who plays trumpet, and a grandfather who played guitar in gypsy bands back in Hungary. As a teenager I discovered the electric guitar and played in many bands, but always came back to the beauty of the nylon guitar and its pure tone, and subtle nuances and inflections. I grew up listening to a wide variety of music, and sacrificing many hours to learn my chosen instrument and extract music that moved me and gave me happiness. It’s very important to me that there is melodic improvisation on every track on this CD and many songs for that matter are one takes, keeping the melodic contour and flow of the music alive, and very much in the MOMENT, without sounding pieced together. I love beautiful, slow intimate songs, but I also love to play with great speed and phrasing to speak my music and captivate my audience.
Sometimes the true beauty and meaning within a song lies not in what is said, but rather what is unsaid
