If you are sick and tired of George Bush, torture, Iraq and lies, you will love this record.
Bio / Background
Talk Engine is fronted by spoken word artist Jackie Sheeler-top-5 finalist in the 2005 Great American Song Contest. Performing regularly on the east coast, the band garnered a best-of-show nod from The Village Voice after an improv slot at the spring 2003 Symphony Space tribute to Joni Mitchell. In a recent review, Collin Kelley of Subtle Tea Magazine wrote that "If Lou Reed and Patti Smith had coupled, the result might have been a child like the rocking and raw Jackie Sheeler -- sexy, angry and incendiary." And the band kicks ass in live shows, dominating the stage and sometimes infiltrating the audience courtesy of a wireless mike. Bob Holman, who runs the BPC club in NYC, said it best: "Talk Engine live cooks, burns, and blisters."
This single, Something for Junior, was release on George Bush's birthday in 2004, when we still had hope (even certainty!) that he would be trounced out of office in November.
↓ more ↓Sadly, that did not happen, but thank GOD for term limits -- he's got another birthday coming that will be his last one in the white house, and we can all look forward to the day that we are rid of this dishonest warmongering administration.
If the paragraph above resonates with you, then take a shot and get this record. It's only five bucks!
peace out.
