Summer has been compared to Dylan, Cat Stevens and Roy Orbison, however this mercurial songwriter has a style all his own.
Bio / Background
"Laughing Like A Banshee" , written, produced and released in 1999 by Rick Summer Droit has become a favorite among festival goers and lovers of folk and acoustic blues music everywhere.
Rick Summer pooled his talented friends and touring artists from The Kerrville Folk Festival to team up with him on 15 of Rick's original songs, and a couple of traditional's as well, making 17 songs in all.
And at 9.95 - That's less than .90 cents a song !
The CD starts out with a song performed onstage at Kerrville with Owl Morrison on Viola and backing vocals, and moves to what Summer's fans call "The Cloud Song" (The Simple Life),
also longtime friend Chris Chandler (courtesy of Prime CD) lends his talents to a stirring rendition of "Poor Wayfaring Stranger" accompanied by Summer & Laura Freeman of the Road Dog Diva's.
Freeman also appears on the hit "Sleepy Hollow", her etheral and stunningly beautiful vocals with Rick's bluesy sound kept the song on Soundclick.
