British rock meets classic alternative
Bio / Background
During the freeze/thaw process, a material will undergo a molecular transformation. If that material contains sugar, the sugar will migrate out. This phenomenon is known as sugar migration.
The Sugar Migration blends elements of classic alternative bands like Depeche Mode, Love and Rockets and Sisters of Mercy with big guitars, bigger hook-filled choruses and electro-flavored beats. Song themes range from spirituality, communication breakdown, frustration and jubilation.
“I’ve always loved mood-based alternative music, bands like Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy and my vocals gravitate to that sound” says songwriter Lou, “but I also grew up loving rock guitar, playing Sabbath and AC/DC. I wanted to bring all those influences together with a thoroughly modern approach using Adam's rhythmic programming and production. Then throw in some intergalactic mindwarp and you've got catchy songs you could blast on the radio.

With the neu-psychedelia intro “Sugar Migration”, to the bombastic singles “The Laboratory” and “Time”, to the spiritual rock anthem “Circles”, the layered guitars in the melodic ballad “In The Grey”, to the uptempo arena rock of “The New You”, this phenomenon is known as The Sugar Migration.
