“HOLLYWOOD GIRL and more Chicano Soul” by SUENOS features the voice of Jamie Zuniga and the dynamic sound of SUENOS performing 11 classic Chicano soul oldies. Each original recording has been digitally re-mastered and restored.
Bio / Background
SUENOS is the Spanish word for dreams…… and SUENOS is the name of the exciting Chicano Soul band from Sacramento, California that was formed in 1979. The group felt a common goal “to play original Latin music for the people” would set them apart from other bands.
Under the guidance of bandleader/ songwriter/bassist Frank Lizarraga and Israfel Records (now, Lovetaxi Productions), the group started recording and within months signed a distribution deal with Luna Records of Los Angeles and were releasing records to Spanish and English markets and radio stations.
Two songs; “BABY, I LOVE YOU” and “OH’ LITTLE GIRL” received
extended airplay in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Their 12” single “I’M SO CRAZY FOR YOU” was well received on both the West & East coasts and in Europe. Their cumbia “LA CITA and ranchera “SOY COMPESINO” received airplay on regional & national Spanish radio stations.
