Beautiful melodies, honest lyrics and stunning harmonies that awaken the mind and heart to rural and Mid-Western prairie life.
Bio / Background
STEVAN B comes from a small town in Southern Illinois. His music and personal roots run deep in the solid Mid-Western values of family, humor, determination and open honesty that permeate the rural landscape.
STEVAN B has been singing and playing guitar since grade school. Different times in his life have found him playing rock and country music with various bands. Recently he has re-discovered the joys of an acoustic guitar and folk, blues, and "Americana" music that had shaped his life from the beginning.

About the Songs:
1. “The Girl is Good Looking” – Reminiscent of songs I listened to on the radio as a kid, in a car driving down country roads with the windows down and a cold bottle of NEHI soda in my hands.
2. “Sun and Plow” – My interpretation of what it feels like to stand in a Prairie, just before turning the dirt over for it’s first plowing.
3. “Prairie Wind” – This song is inspired by spending one too many nights driving state highways getting from one place to the next.
4. “Runaway” – this song is dedicated to all the traveling performers who gave up so much to follow their vision.
5. “Can You Sleep at Night” – Basic question we all have to ask ourselves, dealing with our actions and intentions.
6. “Two AM Blues” – Just a fun little song, created as the name implies.
7. “365 Degrees” – This song is about breaking down the barriers we all put up to keep us emotionally safe.
8. “1st Step Taken” – I’ve always wanted to write a “cowboy” song, with the image of two gunslingers at high noon. On another level, it talks about communications breaking down and the resort to violence.
9. “Small Towns” – This song was written about the town where I was born. Every line in it is from memories I have.
10. “Down the Line – Revisited” – An earlier version of this song actually showed up on my 1st CD, however I had a chance to re-record it for a publisher/record company and liked the new version so much I decided to give it it’s own place on this CD.
