Stealing Silence

Austin, TX

Stealing Silence is one of the most unique acts to have ever come from Austin, TX. They have combined pop, rock, alternative, ska, and rap music (just to name a few) into a truly genre breaking experience. Speaking of experiences, their live performance rivals that of almost any band currently playing anywhere in the country. Stealing Silence's lead singer, Jason Taylor (aka Mashed Potato), brings to every show a charisma and energy that draws the audience in like a magnet and he has been known to do anything from jumping off drum sets to stripping down to his boxers in order to get the crowd cheering for more. Having played over 100 shows together over the past three years in venues all over Austin and throughout Texas, these guys are both experienced musicians and performers.

Stealing Silence also recorded their debut Self-Titled CD in the summer of 2001 the first single off of it, "Sitting in My Room", has reached #1 on the MP3.
