A collection of urban gospel from Soul Muzick Records, an independent gospel label that mixes hip- hop, urban contemporary and CCM styles in an effort to bring a younger and hipper audience to Christian music, Street Gospel, Vol. 1 succeeds best on the straight up rap tracks, which tend not to telegraph every punch.
