This pop alt-country music is a slightly experimental dose of quirky lyrics that is wood not plastic, paint brushes not computer mice, rough edges not smooth corporate shlock.
Bio / Background
Late Hawaiian afternoons spent listening to Nick Drake and Wilco, driving in my old Nissan around Honolulu playinig the Clash and the Kinks, early pre-dawn sleepless hours with headphones and my Akai 12 track, and a summer in the Adirondacks - those are the ingredients of my new songs.
I wanted the sounds of real instruments. Not synthesizers, drum machines, big smooth corporate shlock. I want sounds that are real: wood, not plastic.
But then there's the weird sounds, distorted vocals, and generally slightly twisted take on life that comes through in the lyrics.
The lyrics. At last, I've arrived at a place where my lyrics have grown to the point where I'm comfortable letting them be center stage.
Not for money, but for fun, living proof that when those spoiled, over paid and pampered rock stars say they would make music even if no one listened and there were no money in it.
A Sunday painter, and damn proud of it.
