A "Hi, nice to meet ya," album with a deceptively good sound (for being recorded in a van). You'll love Evan's first album.
Bio / Background
The serious bio:
Evan Lefloch is from Tampa, Florida and has a degree in Commercial Music. His former career in Youth Ministry led him to start Smallfish in 1999. Half of the year, Evan resides in Orlando, Florida. The rest of the year, he hits the road, going all over the country to youth gatherings, day camps, lock-ins and any other place where he is called to share the love of God through music. With just a piano, Evan plays all types of music from your favorite camp songs to country to praise & worship and even rock-n-roll (and all that jazz).
The not-so-serious bio:
When Evan was a wee lad, living on Tampa Bay, he liked to fish...a lot. Later, while attending Rollins College in Orlando, Florida he had a professor ask him if he would rather be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond. After pondering the fish/pond question for a bit, Evan replied, "I'd rather be a small fish in a big pond because then I'd always have room to grow.
↓ more ↓" Some years later while in the real world he read this book about a guy who fed 5,000 people with a couple of loaves and a few small fish. The fish weren't a big part of the story, but they fed people because they were blessed by God. Evan, seeing an opportunity to find new spots to fish, grow and share the blessings he had received from God, started Smallfish in 1999. Since then he's played in churches, living rooms, beaches, dorms, domes, hotels, boats and backyards across the world for crowds of 3 to crowds of 45,000. Smallfish isn't a big part of the story, but Evan still hits the road as often as possible to feed people and to be fed.
