Sister Machine Gun's fifth release combines elements of industrial, electronica, jazz, blues, funk and noise in to a style best described as neo-industrial-dada-funk.
Editorial review
On [R]evolution, Chris Randall continues the stylistic experimentation he began to explore on Metropolis, with more mixed results. Still, there are enough strong moments to make the record an overall success, even if industrial-based alt-rock had fallen out of favor with most of the mass listening public by 1999. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
Bio / Background
Praise for [R]evolution:
"Recorded at Warzone, the liner notes read and you know immediately that some of that dense industrial-edged funk which was so perfected with Die Warzau's Engine will be found here, though Randall has taken some of the clatter out of the Warzone Funk and infused it with his own directives...smart, edgy hooks and that crooner's voice of his." - Ear Pollution

Since 1990, Chicago electro-rock mainstays Sister Machine Gun have been making ground-breaking records and playing incendiary live shows. With four albums on the pioneering Wax Trax! label, and five more on the band's own Positron! Records, SMG's extensive catalog explores just about every genre of modern music, from electro-funk dance to Hendrix-flavored industrial strength rock.
[R]evolution is Sister Machine Gun's fifth release and their first on Positron! Records.
↓ more ↓Combining elements of industrial, electronica, jazz, blues, funk and noise in to a style best described as neo-industrial-dada-funk, [R]evolution is a favorite among SMG fans due to it's independent spirit and the album's battle cry anthem "Smash Your Radio!" It's independent recording at it's finest, everything a band can be when it has full control over it's own destiny.
