Great lyrics and hooks perfectly mixed with laidback beats - modern-day classic hip hop.

Fed up with the lack of creativity in today's hip hop "game," Sin is a throwback to The Culture's Golden Era when lyrics mattered and MC's had fun making music. With an organic, and rootsy vibe, Sin puts his own California-grown spin on a sound that's reminiscent of the Native Tongues.
There is more to hip hop (and life) than "Party and Bullsh*t," but there is a lot of that in his music. He details the the often oxymoronic and contradictory actions of a 24-year-old college graduate. Sin treads the fine line of making conscious hip hop without losing its commercial appeal or sounding too "preachy." Born and raised in Pasadena, Ca, Sin moved to Virginia in 1999 to attend Hampton University. There he met other MCs and fans of real hiphop and honed his mic skills, joining the crew Phase 1.
↓ more ↓The three-man crew began touring, bringing their unique brand of "Retro-Contempo, Re-Evolutionary Hip Hop" to hungry hip hop lovers throughout the South, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. Along with Phase 1 and their larger collectives, The Hip Hop Hippies, and the Soul Students; Sin has opened for a number of artists, such as John Legend, Common, Jill Scott, and Busta Rhymes.
"Welcome to the Show," Sin's debut EP is an 8-track introduction to his sound as a solo artist, and it displays his lyrical versatility. The CD bounces smoothly from lively, performance-oriented tracks to deep, thought-provoking ones all with a subtle humor that is uniquely Sin's. His profound story-telling ability is shown as well as his ability to merge his sound with up-and-coming Neo-Soul artist Jon Bibbs that is sure to be played at every urban lounge throughout the country.
