Melodic 60's British Invasion Pop Rock straight out of the middle of England via Cologne, Germany.
Bio / Background
Steve Dix is an Englishman in self-imposed exile in Cologne, Germany, where he works on his own very special brand of the 1960's British Invasion Sound. Before he moved to Germany he was a member of The Simpletons, a 60's influenced band that was one of the first bands to promote their home-produced songs over the internet.
He started to write this album back in 1998, after the Simpletons broke up. Little did he know that he'd move to Germany on the back of the dot.com boom and, due to various happenings (Life is what happens whilst you're making other plans, to quote a certain Dr. Winston O'Boogie) he'd not get round to finally finishing the album until nearly six years later. The album has been recorded with a bewildering variety of equipment, starting with a cassette 8-track, moving to a computer and then being finished off with occasional visits to a demo studio.
Work proceeds on the sequel, which he promises won't take as long this time. Honest.
