In Hi Def by Simple 6

Gielan, equally skilled at singing, guitar, violin, piano, drums, and producing, furthered his playing and burgeoning songwriting at Berklee College of Music, whose attendees include Grammy-winning and multi-platinum artists Paula Cole and John Mayer. David Gielan, who has gone on to develop a noteworthy solo career, which includes a nomination from the Los Angeles Music Awards for "Male Singer/Songwriter of the Year", writes songs that seem to come from a dark place, yet are melodically-driven, a contrasting formula which makes Simple 6's sound, all its own.

Simple 6's sonic strength comes from the keyboard and guitar playing of Ted Wheaton. Wheaton, the son of one of the top music theorists in the country, has made his livelihood from music, touring the states year-round with groups such as Seattle Reggae-outfit, The Ganja Farmers. Like his band mates, Drummer Kevin Hill has also made a life filled with rigorous touring, sharing bills with the likes of Maroon 5 in a former project, the rave rock psychedelic lounge funk act, The Serotonins. Hill's masterful locomotion and use of a commanding technical style allow a platform for La Rue Mayo (bass) to shine. Mayo, an accomplished musician in his own right, has recorded with some of the nation's top acts.

Simple 6's full-length debut, the aptly titled In High Def, is a mixture of DIY production and that of producer Michael Vail Blum (Michael Jackson, Madonna). Producing the majority of the album themselves with Engineer Scott Crisp of Drinking Bleach (Beck, Kanye West), David Gielan and Tedd Wheaton stayed true to their musical vision in a resounding and formidable way leaving the listener anxious for more, staying out of the confines of industry standards, creating a sound that can stand against any of todays top selling albums. Garnering a 2006 nomination from the Los Angeles Music Awards for Adult Contemporary Rock Album of the Year, In High Def is creating substantial buzz in other mediums, including television, radio, and the web.
