Bio / Background
Lyn Sigman Vocalist/Actress
Lyn Sigman, grew up in Harlem (as C. Lynda McConnell), admiring Diana Ross and
The Supremes. Little did she know that years later, she would be on stage performing the role of Deena in "Dreamgirls" ( a show reflecting the life and times of Diana Ross and the Supremes).
Lyn attended Music and Arts High School and went on to graduate Nathaniel Hawthorne College in New Hampshire. Her early working years included, original cast member of the off Broadway hit, "Mama, I Want To Sing". The next few years took her on national and international tours with Jennifer Holliday, Melba Moore, Lillo Thomas, Freddie Jackson, and Miles Jaye.
Also during this period, Lyn spent a lot of time in the recording studio as a backup singer. As a lead singer she had a hit record on Atlantic called "One Step At A Time".
↓ more ↓After extensively touring and a return to Broadway with "Dreamgirls" (where she met her future husband, Jeff Sigman), she and two friends, started a three-girl group for RCA records where she changed her name to Lyn MacDonald.
The newly married Lyn Sigman tried to retire after their daughter Sarah was born, but the calling was too strong. At this point Lyn returned to her first love, Gospel Music. It is here where she has been inspired to write, record, and perform when, and wherever possible.
