Bio / Background

A Shelby non-Bio:

Shelby was formed in the spring of 2000 by NYC locals Kenny Cummings and Phil Schuster. Their first few get-togethers were very casual (and included Chris Kavanaugh, former drummer of Big Audio Dynamite). They wrote and recorded their Songs | 8 cd in the summer of 2000 and have been playing around NYC since then. The CD has already drawn considerable praise and interest - the music has been described as New Order vs. The Who, with a little My Bloody Valentine on the side - and will be officially released in July 2001 on the notorious Merc Records label.

Shelby is:

Kenny Cummings sings and plays guitar and keyboards for Shelby. He fronted Little Shining Man from 1993 to 1998, and previously played and programmed synthesizers for acts as diverse as Elvis Costello and Midnight Oil.

Phil Schuster plays bass and keyboards for Shelby.

This is a truly remarkable song, and the guitar and vocals are well incoporated. The lyrics have a distinct meaning and they add to the unique quality of the song.
