Epic experimental post pop indie rock
Bio / Background
Shecky Forme was an experimental pop band in Calgary that moved and splintered, now has evolved into a long-distance recording project. We started recording "004" during Christmas 2004 and it's still a work in progress.
We came together briefly around Y2K to explore the outer reaches of pop music, creating free, epic, joyful songs. Improvisation evolved into song structures and the discovery of new sonic possibilities: some sweetly melodic, some harshly dissonant, some spaced out, but always joyous.
The band was Aaron Booth, Dan Gaucher, Carl Lukasewich and Chris Vail. Each have since moved on to other places and times but continue a long distance recording relationship.
